Our Club was founded by several local enthusiasts in 1968.  We published our first meeting in the Shooting Times and had a great response from near and far.  Spaniel personalities gave their support to the Club and included Sir Joshua Rowley.  The club has gone from strength to strength and we currently have circa 70 members.  Many of our members, both past and present, have achieved awards with their spaniels and some have even gone on to become 'A' Panel Spaniel Judges.

We hold 6/7 training classes in Essex during April to July each year.  We finish the season with our Working Tests in July/August; separate Novice and Open Tests only to those members that have attended training.  For many years we held an inter-club Match with The Three Shires Spaniel Club.  It was the 40th Anniversary of this Match in 2014.  We held our first inter-club Match with the Leconfield Working Spaniel Club in 2019.  We missed the 2020 Match due to Covid-19, but thankfully recommenced in 2021.  Current score:  Leconfield 3, ESGT 2.  The 2025 Match will be hosted by the Leconfield Working Spaniel Club.

We are now looking forward to welcoming old and new members to take part in a full calendar of events in 2025.
